DEA Activities 2009 – 2011

ACTIVITIES:
1.2.1 Build knowledge and understanding of DPA focal staff and focal staff from partner organizations on decentralization and local governance/organic law and promote application of this knowledge in daily life.
1.2.2 Build knowledge and understanding of partner organization staff and ICD vulnerable target beneficiaries, especially IP, on decentralization and local governance/organic law.
1.2.3 Participate actively in inter-agency working groups/networks and events related to decentralization and local governance/organic law
ACTIVITIES:
2.1.1 DPA focal staff and partner organisation focal staff build their knowledge and skills about the impacts of NRM issues and related laws, RBA and advocacy strategies.
2.1.2 Build and strengthen networks with like-minded organizations on specific issues concerning IP’s rights, NRM and EISEI
2.1.3 Promote information sharing and dissemination on affected communities concerning IP’s rights, NRM and EISEI
ACTIVITIES:
2.2.1 Conduct research on land, logging and EI issues affecting community livelihood and rights.
2.2.2 Build knowledge and understanding of vulnerable groups and vulnerable community stakeholders on impacts of NRM issues and related laws, RBA and grassroots advocacy strategies.
ACTIVITIES:
3.1.1 Facilitate discussion on NRM issues, gender and development, indigenous people’s rights, and decentralization and local governance/organic law at the sub-national level during DPA staff and leadership meetings.
3.1.2 Undertake research on NRM issues, gender and development and indigenous people’s rights, and decentralization and local governance/organic law as required.
3.1.3 Co-organize lobbying and public campaigns on NRM issues, gender and development, indigenous people’s rights and decentralization and local governance/organic law at the sub-national level.
3.1.4 Participate in provincial NGO networks and campaigns on NRM issues, gender and development and indigenous people’s rights and decentralization and local governance/organic law.
3.1.5 Strengthen and build collaborative relationships with NGO Forum on Cambodia, Oxfam GB, CLEC and other relevant groups to facilitate land, fishery, community forestry, indigenous people, partnership in decentralization, and gender and development networks.
3.1.6 Coordinate and facilitate the national level network on social and environmental impacts of extractive industries.
3.1.7 Conduct training and identify focal persons on the social and environmental impacts of extractive industries for communities.
3.1.8 Monitor and investigate issues related to social and environmental impacts of extractive industry through site visits and discussions with communities.
3.1.9 Disseminate information about NRM issues, gender and development and indigenous people’s rights and; decentralization and local governance/organic law at the sub-national level
3.1.10 Support commune, district and provincial networks and assist target beneficiaries in making representations to local officials on NRM issues, gender and development and indigenous people’s rights, and decentralization and local governance /organic law issues.
3.1.11 Monitor the quality of law and policy enforcement in relation to NRM issues, gender and development and indigenous people’s rights and decentralization and local governance/organic law at the sub-national level.

ACTIVITIES:

3.2.1. Co-organize public forum and panel discussion on climate change impact at the sub-national level.

3.2.2. Collaborate with like-minded organizations, media, donors and relevant government institutions to share information and experience, and take joint actions to promote climate change adaptation and mitigation.
Provide awareness, capacity building to DPA staff and target communities on disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation and mitigation.

ACTIVITIES:
4.4.1 Take leadership role and participate in Cambodians for Resource Revenue Transparency (CRRT).
4.4.2 Build positive working relationships with relevant governmental officials and institutions.
4.4.3 Build positive working relationships with high profile private companies.
4.4.4 Engage in policy development consultation process for inclusion of recommendations from CRRT.
4.4.5 Promote reporting and discussion on resource revenue management during CRRT, DPA staff and leadership meetings.
4.4.6 Disseminate information to media on issues related to resource revenue management of EI.

ACTIVITIES:
4.2.1 Negotiate with concerned government officials on policies and laws related to resource revenue management.
4.2.2 Collaborate with CRRT to organize lobbying and public campaigns on resource revenue management.
4.2.3 Raise awareness of target beneficiaries on resource revenue from EI.

ACTIVITIES:
5.1.1 Gather, compile and distribute information on issues such as gender, NRM and EI  to relevant stakeholders
5.1.2 Develop and distribute IEC materials to relevant stakeholders
5.1.3 Maintain and upgrade DPA website.
