DEVELOPMENT AND PARTNERSHIP IN ACTION (DPA)

Development and Partnership in Action (DPA) is a local Non-Governmental Organisation, which has been active in Cambodia for over 30 years. DPA has two main programs: (I) Integrated Community Development Program (ICDP); (ii) Partnership and Advocacy Program (PAP). The target areas of these prgrammes are in six provinces including Mondulkiri, Ratanakiri, Preah Vihear, Stung Treng, Siem Reap, and Kampong Thom.

 

The Advocacy programme under the DPA-PAP works to strengthen, develop, and educate on strengthening advocacy skills to target beneficiaries on issues related to land, logging, extractive industry (EI) social environmental impacts, and gender mainstreaming. One of the projects under DPA-PAP supports women who are directly affected by the extractive industry to record, compile evidence-based and documentation on community-based monitoring of gender impact by mining into the database. DPA is currently seeking a qualified consultant for developing a Database for Gender-Sensitive Mining Impacts Monitoring.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • An Inception report setting out the detailed methodology, timescale, and the proposal received as part of the process and the proposed budget for the Develop Mining Impact Database for Gender Sensitive Mining Impacts Monitoring.
  • Develop and test gender-inclusive questionnaires with DPA-EISEI[i] and install it in the smart phone.
  • Provide 2-day orientation workshop to DPA-EISEI network members on how to data entry, data management, analysis data and produce a manual databased report
  • Ensure the database well function and safe storage after the DPA-EISEI network members entry data/the findings.
  • Developing and submitting the final database for the Gender Sensitive Mining Impacts Monitoring to DPA management and the steering committee of DPA-EISEI network.

 

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Experience in developing a simple database that can be used by different groups of communities including Indigenous Peoples (IPs).
  • Experience in analyzing data (SPSS, Databased, and Kubo toolbox) to visualize information.
  • Experience in research on NRM, Mining, human rights (IPs rights), legal framework, and relevant sectors.
  • Knowledge and experiences of gender sensitivity.
