Strategic activities

1.1. Develop the capacity of natural resource dependent communities and grassroots NGOs, especially women, youth and IPs, to confidently engage in collective planning and decision making for access to, management and conservation of natural resources

1.2. Monitor the compilation of evidence for use in advocacy to the government, policy makers and the private sector for appropriate legislation, promoting accountability, transparency, CSR, inclusive and responsible development.

1.3. Partner with, and support grassroots Cambodian NGOs and NRM formal and informal community groups to analyse and respond effectively to community concerns.

1.4. Facilitate intergenerational dialogue among and between relevant stakeholders in communities towards more sustainable development outcomes.

1.5. Follow DPA safeguarding and other relevant policies to support the safety of NRM and mining focal persons during advocacy work

1.6. Facilitate collaboration between relevant stakeholders towards legal recognition of community managed natural resources (CF, CFi, CLT and CPA) and IP cultures.

1.7. Partner with and support capacity and inputs to NRM committees and members, and grassroots NGOs to engage government and private sector in sustainable management of natural resources through CF, CFi and CPA projects and mitigate any social and environmental impacts.

1.8. Support NRM representatives to establish functioning sub-national networks.

 

2.1. Convene and facilitate multi-stakeholder (companies, government, CSO and affected communities) dialogue meetings.

2.2. Develop capacity of target communities to compile and use evidence to advocate government, policy makers and private sector for appropriate legislation and policy development promoting accountability, transparency, CSR, and inclusive and responsible development.

2.3. Organize and support EISEI network meeting and attend NGOs coalition on EI governance meeting, provincial network and other national and regional meetings

2.4. Support grassroots Cambodian NGOs and NRM formal and informal community groups, especially representatives of women, youth and IPs to engage in various government and private sector development consultation on NRM legislation processes.

2.5. Conduct EIA report review and participate in inter-ministerial, NGO coalition, and other national and regional meetings related to EIA.

2.6. Coordinate and collaborate with civil society and community networks at different levels that advocate for access, use and rights on emerging and sensitive development priorities.

2.7. Strengthen target communities’ capacity on NRM Laws and sub-decrees to enable them to monitor and feedback to duty bearers for just application of these legislations.

2.8. Support communities to monitor and follow up on actions by duty bearers perceived by them as unjust application of NRM legislation.

 

3.1. Coordinate and collaborate with civil society and community networks at different levels that advocate for access, use and rights on emerging and sensitive development priorities.

3.2. Establish grievance mechanism.

3.3. Participate actively in monitoring, compiling and documenting community issues and concerns for evidence-based advocacy

3.4. Partner with, and support (capacity development only) community members and NGO partners to analyse and engage with government and private sector to respond effectively to community concerns.

3.5. Coordinate with members of EISEI network, NGO alliance on EI governance and other network members /NGOF to jointly organize and attend meeting at different levels (regional, national and sub national) to advocate for emerging and sensitive NRM issues and mitigating climate change/Green House Gas emissions through reduction of chemical utilities.

3.6. Participate actively with CSOs to implement communication and engagement strategies to influence government and private sectors on improved and enforced policies and regulations by incorporating international standards such as FPIC, CSR and Business and Human Rights principles and practices

3.7. Partner with, and support capacity (organisational and programme design, planning, implementation, management) of grassroots Cambodian NGOs and emerging CBO to analyse and respond effectively to community concerns
