The overall goal of ICD Mondulkiri is to achieve a sustainable improvement in the quality of life of the indigenous people through supporting natural resource management, upland and wetland agriculture, and basic health care in the six target villages.

The objectives of ICD Mondulkiri are:

  • build the capacity of village development committees (VDCs) to plan and coordinate development activities and strengthen the capacity of project sub-committees and village volunteer specialists to plan and manage their own activities in a way that is participatory and gender sensitive,
  • enhance access to natural resources and land tenure security of indigenous ethnic groups in collaboration with NGOs and government offices,
  • improve nutrition of indigenous people by supporting sustainable upland and lowland agriculture techniques, and
  • improve the health and sanitation practices of indigenous people by providing clean water and community based health education with a strong focus on HIV/AIDS and malaria awareness and prevention.
  • To assist the indigenous communities to preserve and document traditions and cultural practices; and
  • To support the indigenous community to help themselves in attaining their rights, protecting their interests, and addressing the issues affecting them.
