On August 13–14, 2026, the Development and Partnership in Action (DPA) organization, with financial support from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) through Caritas Australia, assisted the Sesan District Administration in collaboration with the Provincial and District Disaster Management Committees to organize a disaster preparedness and response simulation exercise.

The two-day exercise aimed to strengthen the capacity and experience of local authorities, relevant officials, and community members in prevention, response, and timely rescue, First Aid, emergency medical care and safe shelter management during disasters caused by natural phenomena, particularly floods and flash floods in vulnerable areas. In addition to evacuation and coordination practice, participants also received training in First Aid, emergency medical care, and safe shelter management.

The event was presided over by Mrs. Eng Sophea, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Stung Treng Provincial Disaster Management Committee; Mr. Chea Dara, Head of Administration and Finance of DPA; and Mr. Sovann Piseth, Governor of Sesan District.
