On August 27, 2026, the EISEI Network Secretariat of DPA Organization, together with Steering Committee members, under the supervised of Mr. Mam Sambath, Chairman of the Steering Committee and Executive Director of DPA, successfully organized the 49th network meeting at the Cambodiana Hotel, Phnom Penh.
The meeting was honored by the participation of Her Excellency Oeun Panhaneath, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Environment, who opened remark and as honor guest speaker, sharing insights on the topic of Payment for Ecosystem Services under the Environment and Natural Resources Code. The meeting also included network members, representatives of civil society organizations, and local communities, totaling approximately 32 participants (15 women). The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness among network members regarding the policy frameworks, laws, and guidelines relevant to the mining sector.
Achievements included:• Participants gained a clearer understanding of Payment for Ecosystem Services under the Environment and Natural Resources Code.
• Participants gained understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards and the future expected to integrate this standard into the national legal framework.
• Participants actively engaged for the resolution of issues related to the impacts of mining company operations in Cambodia.
