On 18 September 2026, Angkor Gold held the awareness meeting on the company’s activities and reporting mechanism with local community members and authorities in Tang Se Village, Nhang Commune, Andoung Meas District, Ratanakiri Province.
Supported by DPA, the meeting brought together 33 participants, (11 women). There were thirty participants Jarai Indigenous people, six youths and one woman with a disability; and also includes Mr. Yoeut Sothea, Angkor Gold’s focal person, members of the Nhang Commune Council, and DPA’s SABRE project team.
📌The meeting aimed to explain the company’s activities and reporting mechanism, while strengthening communication among the company, the community, and local authorities. It sought to help participants better understand the company’s activities and how to raise concerns safely. Key topics​ are:
• The company’s activities, potential impacts, and measures to reduce those impacts.
• How to report concerns or requests to the company.
• How the company responds to reports and the next steps for cooperation.
📌 Outcomes: Participants learned about the company’s activities, met its focal person, and explored how to use the reporting mechanism. They practised several ways to communicate with the company, including reporting in person, writing a letter, sending a voice message, making a phone call, appointing a representative, and working with local authorities. Participants also actively shared suggestions to make the reporting mechanism easier for local communities to understand and use.
