On 17 October 2026, the committee and members of the Prey Por Meak Buon Community Forestry Group, located in Phyour Chrouk Village, Kuleaen Cheung Commune, Kuleaen District, Preah Vihear Province, conducted a forest patrol and monitored the growth and condition of seedlings planted in the agroforestry area. A total of 10 participants, including 4 women, took part in the activity.
Field observations indicated that approximately 80%–85% of the 1,300 seedlings planted had survived. The team observed that some seedlings had been damaged or broken when stepped on by cattle and buffaloes, while others were able to regrow. These findings highlight the need for continued monitoring and measures to protect seedlings from damage caused by livestock.
During the patrol, no signs of illegal logging or forest encroachment were observed in the area covered by the patrol.
This activity demonstrates the commitment and active participation of the community forestry committee and members in monitoring forest conditions, protecting natural resources, and maintaining planted seedlings. Regular forest patrols and seedling maintenance will help improve seedling survival and growth, while strengthening community-based forest management and conservation.
