On November 26, CRRT Chairman Mr. Mam Sambath traveled to Beijing to participate in a conference entitled “The Relationship between China and Mekong Countries on Trade, Investment and Sustainable Development”.

Mr Sambath’s presentation focused on the challenges faced by host countries in effectively managing Chinese investment, particularly in the extractive industry sector, and also included ideas for strengthening regional cooperation across all Mekong countries.

Following the conference, Mr. Sambath had the opportunity to conduct informal meetings with representatives from the Chinese government, the private sector, and other concerned NGOs to further discuss the issues at hand.
