The DPA Executive Director, Mr. Mam Sambath, received an invitation letter to attend the inter-ministerial meeting to verify and provide input on the EIA report on November 2–3 and December 24, 2024, at the Ministry of Environment (MoE). As a result, the inputs for the EIA report were agreed and accepted by the mining companies’ owners and supported by the relevant ministries. These inputs address issues and concerns such as: resolving community land issues and improving natural resource management (NRM); hiring drivers with valid licenses to address community concerns about safe travel; properly storing explosives; enhancing solid waste and wastewater management; improving health and safety for staff at mining sites; adhering to the closure and recovery plan for the mining sector; and including additional suggestions in the EIA report.
