A DPA partner, The Johanniter, conducted a monitoring visit to DPA’s climate change adaptation (CCA) and community forestry projects, which are part of the climate change mitigation strategy (CCM), in Stung Treng and Ratanakiri Provinces. The CCA and CCM interventions aim to enable small-scale farmers, especially the most vulnerable households in the 40 target villages, to achieve food security and household income as key drivers to adapt to unpredictable weather changes through resilient agricultural production techniques, natural resource management, and collaborative efforts with relevant government provincial departments in three key areas: (1) livelihood diversification; (2) strengthening community-based disaster management and emergency response; and (3) protection and conservation of the local ecosystem, with a strong focus on indigenous people and their livelihoods. Credited to DPA field staff in both provinces for the meaningful project photos taken on 7-8 February 2024.
