Activity supporting chicks and chicken feed to most vulnerable families and families ending domestic violence
On Monday, March 24, 2025, the DPA team in Preah Vihear Province, with the support from Manos Unidas project, organized and coordinated the provision of chick for raising and chicken feed to most vulnerable families, and families ending domestic violence, with a total of 66 families at Srabal, Pneuv, Bos village in Phnom Penh commune , Kulaen Cheung, Pchuor Chruok village in Kulaen Cheung commune, Rumchek village in Sra Yang commune and Dan village in Thmey commune of Kulen District, Preah Vihear Province.
-The DPA project team provided chicks for raising to 60 most vulnerable families, with each family receiving 20 chicks and 11.5 kg of chicken feed as resources for start raising chickens for increasing family food consumption and increasing family income.
-The DPA project team also provided chick for raising and chicken feed to 6 families who have ended domestic violence, with each family receiving 29 chicks and 20 kilograms of chicken feed to implement the family livelihood improvement plan.
A total, 1,380 chicks and 810 kilograms of chicken feed were provided to the 66 families. The main objective is for supporting most vulnerable families and families who have ended domestic violence for increasing food consumption and family incomes, including people with disability, vulnerable women headed household, and the most poorest families. This support also includes capacity building on chicken farming techniques and providing closely coaching and mentoring to fill technical gaps in chicken farming in order to increase family income and livelihoods.
