Desired Outcomes

In order to contribute to achieving Two Goals of DPA Strategic Plan 2022-2026 – Goal # 1 (Natural Resources Management [NRM]): DPA’s target communities, especially women, youth and Indigenous people benefit from managed and protected natural resources equitably and sustainably; and Goal # 2 (Food Security and Financial Sustainability [FS&FS]): DPA’s target communities, especially women, youth and Indigenous people (IP) enjoy resilience and welfare ensured by food security and financial sustainability – the ICDP have been implementing four desired outcomes, followed by 10 intermediate outcomes, as follows:

Long-Term Outcomes:
# 1.1: Rights and ownership – Resource dependent communities especially women and indigenous communities in DPA target areas are empowered to claim their rights of access to natural resources, protect their IP culture, and advocate for improved social and environmental responsibility.
# 2.1: Community institutional development – Formal and informal community groups, especially women, youth and IPs, supported by DPA function through principles of good governance and effective business management.
# 2.2: Increased incomes – DPA target beneficiaries, especially women, youth and IPs increase their income through formal and informal social enterprise practices, using their own sources and/or capital loans when required.
# 2.3: Climate change resilience – DPA target communities, especially women, youth and IPs, use appropriate methods to ensure increased climate change resilient agricultural productivity and reduce the impact of natural disasters.

Intermediate Outcomes:
# 1.1.1: DPA target natural resource dependent communities, especially women and indigenous communities, have improved capacity and confidence for protection and managing natural resources with the relevant duty bearers.
# 1.1.2: DPA target natural resource dependent and mining affected communities, especially women and indigenous communities, are better organised to protect and preserve their natural resources and IP culture.
# 2.1.1: DPA target formal and informal groups, especially women, youth and IPs have increased and improved their groups’ leadership functions and management according to the principles of good governance.
# 2.1.2: DPA’s representatives of formal and informal groups and DPA increased engagement and cooperation with relevant Ministries and Private Sectors to promote policies that respond to the needs of small-holder farmers.
# 2.2.1: DPA target formal and informal groups, especially women, youth and IPs have increased and improved capacity to effectively develop and manage their businesses.
# 2.2.2: DPA target formal and informal groups, especially women, youth and IPs have increased ability to mobilise and manage resources in transparent and accountable manner.
# 2.2.3: DPA target formal and informal groups, especially women, youth and IPs have ability to supply their agricultural products profitably to respond to the market demands.
# 2.3.1: DPA target communities, especially women, youth and IPs have increased resilient agricultural productions.
# 2.3.2: DPA target communities, especially women, youth and IPs have increased capacity and resources to reduce their vulnerability of their food and income to natural disaster.
# 2.3.3: DPA’s supported Disaster Management Committees have increased and improved capacity in developing and implementing their emergency preparedness and response plan (EPRP).
