Development and Partnership in Action (DPA) organized the project launch workshop “Improved Climate Resilience in Cambodia – ICRC” at the provincial hall of Ratanakiri Province in collaboration with the Culture and Environment Preservation Association (CEPA). This special event was honored and attended by H.E. Sam Socheang, the Deputy Provincial Governor of Ratanakiri Province; H.E. Derek Yip, Australian Ambassador of the Australian Embassy for Cambodia; Mr. Pheakdey Chan, Country Representative of Caritas Australia for Cambodia and Vietnam; Mr. Mam Sambath, DPA Executive Director; Mrs. Luy Rasmey, CEPA Executive Director; NGOs; and other relevant guests and participants, totaling around 74 individuals. The ICRC program is funded by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) through Caritas Australia for a duration of 5 years (July 2024 to June 2029). The implementing partners are DPA and CEPA. The project aims to mitigate vulnerability to climate change effects and disasters through transformative adaptation, mitigation, and disaster risk reduction efforts in two provinces: Ratanakiri and Stung Treng. It aims to benefit approximately 23,954 direct beneficiaries (females: 11,607 or 49%) and 45,915 indirect beneficiaries (females: 22,876 or 50%), including indigenous people, small-scale farmers, the most vulnerable households, LGBTQ individuals across 96 villages in 33 communes of 11 districts in two provinces (Ratanakiri and Stung Treng), as well as local authorities, district and provincial governments, and relevant provincial departments and line ministries.
