Development and Partnership in Action (DPA) and the Culture and Environment Preservation Association (CEPA) co-organized a workshop to present the research findings on “Policy Analysis of Disaster Risk Reduction, Recovery, Anticipatory Action, and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in Cambodia.” The workshop was presided over by H.E. Choup Paris, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Environment, with the participation of Mr. Joseph Kodamanchaly, Acting Country Representative of Caritas Australia. The workshop took place on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Hotel Cambodiana, Phnom Penh.
Under the “Improved Climate Resilience in Cambodia” project which was funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) through Caritas Australia (CA), the workshop aimed to highlight existing gaps in current policies and their implementation at both national and local levels. The focus remained on disaster risk reduction, strategic recovery, and anticipatory action, all while integrating Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).
The workshop was attended by 56 participants (including 10 women) representing 22 different institutions. This diverse participation is vital for fostering systematic discussions and demonstrating a collective commitment to implementing recommendations and actions. These efforts seek to improve policies, laws, and strategies that promote the mainstreaming of GEDSI into disaster risk reduction, strategic recovery, and anticipatory action frameworks.
