On September 02nd, 2025, DPA staffs in Koah Nheaek District organized a meeting to distribute fish fingerlings and feed and Vegetable seed with material for fish fence to rice-fish farmers.
The meeting was held in Tuol Buon Leu Commune and Srae Sankum commune, Koah Nheaek District, Mondulkiri Province, with 36 participants from 2 venue, including 26 women. This initiative aims to enhance farmers’ incomes by supporting them in cultivating both organic rice with fish and vegetable, allowing for dual revenue streams.

Each farmer received 13 kg of young fish fingerlings and 25 kg of feed to support their efforts and 10 packs of vegetable seeds (10 types) to each of farmers who rear fish companion vegetable growing. During the meeting, the commune chief encouraged the farmers to adopt effective fish-raising practices to maximize yields. This pilot project in Koah Nheaek aims to serve as a model for other farmers in the region, showcasing the benefits of integrated rice and fish farming with vegetable for both the local economy and food security.
