Development and Partnership in Action (DPA) and The Johanniter International Assistance (JIA) co-organized the Project Closure Workshop of the project “Sustainable Strengthening of the Resilience of Vulnerable Rural Households, Communities, and Local Protection Structures and Mechanisms to Climate-Related Shocks and Crises in 40 Villages in Ratanakiri and Stung Treng Provinces, Cambodia. The workshop was presided over by H.E. Van Sophea, Deputy Governor of Ratanakiri Province, with the participation of Sir. Guy Clarke, Country Director of The Johanniter for Cambodia and Myanmar, and Mr. Mam Sambath, Executive Director of DPA.
The project is implemented by the Development and Partnerships in Action (DPA) for a period of 42 months (from December 1, 2022 to May 30, 2026) with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. (JUH) through The Johanniter Cambodia.
The Project Closure Workshop aims to: (1) share the key achievements of the project with project participants, relevant stakeholders, and the DPA Funding Partners; (2) provide opportunities for meetings with project participants, local community authorities, and relevant stakeholders to discuss cooperation to ensure the sustainability of the post project; and (3) share lessons learned from the KHM0111 project for future improvement of similar DPA programmes and other NGO programmes.
The results of this workshop are: (1) At the end of the closure workshop, all key stakeholders and representatives of the project participants who participated in the project closure workshop will have a good understanding of the key project achievements, key findings, and recommendations from the External Project Evaluation (EPE) (2) The promised collective actions of the project will continue beyond the project’s end through discussions among all key stakeholders and representatives of the project participants about cooperation to ensure the sustainability of the post-project and (3) Relevant key stakeholders, the representatives of the project participants, and DPA itself will replicate the good practices through the shared lessons learned from this 3-year project.
