March 19th 2025, the ICRC team in Stung Treng wrapped up an inspiring Gender Action Learning System (GALS) training in Sesan district. Over two days, 31 participants including members from the Village Disaster Management Group (VDMG), Youth Rescue Teams (YRTs), and Youth Groups (YGs) from 8 villages came together to learn, share, and grow. Notably, 28 of the participants were women, highlighting the power of female leadership in community development.

This interactive and engaging workshop focused on equipping participants with practical tools to strengthen decision-making and leadership in their families and communities. Through hands-on activities and discussions, 89% of participants showed strong understanding on the four key GALS tools:

  • Soulmate Visioning – Identifying personal and shared goals
  • Vision Journey – Mapping out steps to achieve their dreams
  • Gender Balance Tree – Understanding roles and responsibilities
  • Empowerment Leadership Map – Strengthening leadership and influence

This training was a huge success, with participants showing incredible enthusiasm and commitment. The Stung Treng ICRC team is proud to support these change-makers on their journey to a more inclusive and empowered future!
