From 15th to 16th May 2023, Under support from Cord, DPA-EMPOWER project Team conducted one 2-day training on Legal Frameworks related to NRM (Law on environmental protection and NRM, FPIC, EIA) for 41 WEDs and MRHDs (F: 29, M:12) in Ratanakiri province. The training aimed to review the national and international standards related to FPIC and EIA and to equip the knowledge on the legal framework for increasing their capacity to effectively carry out their work. The contents of the training were the FPIC process in community consultation; the Law on environmental protection and NRM, the EIA process and procedures in the mining sector, the important roles of community members in public consultation and participation in the EIA process, and in decision making.
